Mayor de Blasio demonstrates how to prevent dangerous truck accidents in New York City
An erratic truck driver who failed to yield to Mayor de Blasio was pulled over by the mayor’s security detail after he was spotted running a red light and driving the wrong way in Brooklyn, NYC, yesterday. After he was pulled over, the detail discovered that the truck driver who’s name is Franky Matarrese, had no license to drive such a large vehicle and that he also had no registration on the truck. The number of truck accidents in New York City has been on the rise over the last 3 years. Recent statistics from the NYPD show that last September there were 713 truck accidents in the city compared to 557 in September 2013 and 672 in September 2014. During most of the months of 2015 the monthly number of truck accidents in NYC was above 700, a number never reached in 2013 and only twice in 2014.
