The impact was so intense that Jeffrey was ejected from the car. He was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Jayda who was in the front seat got stuck in the mangled vehicle and had to be extricated. She was also rushed the hospital and survived. The two girls in the back, Nicole and Nathalie, were both injured but also survived the accident. Nathaly broke her pelvis.

Drivers who are speeding have a much higher risk to loose control of their vehicle than those driving at the speed limit. People who are speeding not only endanger themselves but also people in the car with them as well as other road users. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration statistics around 10,000 people are killed every year in car accidents caused by speeding. Speeding accidents account for around one third of all traffic fatalities. Additionally survivors of high speed accidents usually sustain injuries that are often severe and can have life long consequences.
