One 69 year old man in critical condition
Some of the bus accident victims were taken to the hospital by EMS, others were treated at the scene. Among them, was the driver of the bus who was put on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital. The bus drivers told witnesses that 3 people were more injured than he was. A 69 year old man who suffered critical traumatic brain injury is in critical condition. He also said he was a veteran driver who was planning to retire next year and never had an accident in his entire career as a bus driver.
Video surveillance shows the collision (see below)
The two cars that collided were both driving in the opposite direction of the bus. They were riding next two each others in two separate lanes when one of them swerved and sideswiped the other causing a chain reaction. A surveillance video captures the accident and shows a black car riding next to a SUV. At one point when the bus approaches in the opposite direction, the black car seems to move close to the SUV and hit it causing the SUV to crash into the bus. All the 3 vehicle drivers cooperated with the police and so far nobody was charged.
